Things to do in Marloth Park
Marloth Park is a wildlife conservancy on the southern border of the Kruger National Park, where animals roam freely between the houses. Here is how to make the most of your stay.
Watch wildlife from your doorstep
Zebra, giraffe, kudu, warthog and impala wander through Marloth Park itself, so much of the game viewing happens right outside your accommodation. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times for a walk or slow drive along the quiet roads.
Visit the Crocodile River viewpoints
The Crocodile River forms the boundary with the Kruger National Park. From the viewpoints along the river you can spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles and lions coming down to drink — bring binoculars and take your time.
Take a day trip into the Kruger National Park
The Crocodile Bridge gate is a short drive away, making Marloth Park a convenient base for self-drive or guided day trips into the southern Kruger, an area well known for its big cats.
Go birdwatching
The mix of riverine bush and open savanna attracts hundreds of bird species. Hornbills, kingfishers and raptors are regular visitors around the park.
Don't miss: a thermal night drive
The bush comes alive after dark, and the most interesting behaviour is the kind nobody else can see. Our guided thermal safari on the Crocodile River uses thermal imaging to reveal the hidden nightlife of Kruger's animals — without disturbing them with lights.
